"Self care: doing the things that make you feel more like yourself"

                                       - Robyn Conley Downs

My baking career began as soon as I was able to function in a kitchen. Helping my mom cook and bake are some of my favorite childhood memories. Recreating some of my favorite desserts have helped me cope with many challenges in my life. This habit has become my favorite form of self care. I love that I am able to continue taking care of myself while sharing my love of baking with others. Thank you for taking the time to share this experience with me and I hope you find your new favorite treat on my site!

Grand Opening

After months of business planning and updating recipes I finally launched my business. My first week was one of my favorite challenges. It was one of the first time that I would be getting paid for my self care.

Side Hustle Panelist

When I was asked to be a panelist at the University of Cincinnati's Money Con conference, my immediate thought was why me. I had only been in business for about half of a year. In addition, since I had just been baking for my self care, I wasn't aware of the impact that I have made in my community. I was still nervous to participate, but I allowed myself to be celebrated. It felt great to hear from participants after the panel who were also inspired by my continued love for my business.

My First Tabling Events

Thanks to one of my close friends, I was introduced to an ESPORTA manager looking for small business owners willing to market their products during Member Appreciation Day(s).  I was thrilled to have the opportunity to branch out my marketing opportunities. However, during both of these event days I still had injuries from a motor vehicle accident. My hard work during those days made me extremly proud. Not only because I knew it was the first of many, but also because I was able to push through my injuries in order to succeed!

I am not sure what is next, but I am excited to see what is to come!
